The Chappell funeral home has received a Telegram stating the body of
Lt. James F. Dickinson will arrive In Fennville at 12:22 a. m. Wednesday, April 12. Lt. Dickinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dickinson, was killed in action
ln Austria four days before VE Day.

While serving with Gen. George S. Patton's Third Army. He was buried in France.
 
A graduate of "FENNVILE HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS of 41",
he attended Western Michigan college before entering military service in 1942.
He received his training at Fort Knox, Ky., and went overseas in March 1945.

James Dickinson was President of his class.
Calvin Crane was Vice President;
John Calvin Crane died while training with the WWII Air Force in Florida.
 
A memorial service was held for him on June 1, 1945,
 at the Fennville Methodist church. Survivors Include his parents; two children, Merrl-Jim and Donald James, of Saugatuck; a brother, Charles Leonard Dickinson and a sister, Diane, both of Fennville. Upon arrival, here the body will be taken to the Chappell funeral home until 2 p. m. Wednesday when military committal services will be conducted at the Fennville Cemetery.

Linn Sheckler, also "Class of 41", is an UNCLE of this author.
He served as Radioman aboard the USS ADAIR APA-91.

On that same date James was killed, Irwin F. Hutchins, "Class of 1934"
 was driving his jeep TOWARD BERLIN.
